【摘要】:Uraniumdioxideisusedasanuclear-reactorfuel.Gadoliniumoxideisusedasanadditivetouraniumdioxide.Inordertobesuitableforthispurpose,thesematerialsmustmeetcertaincriteriaforimpuritycontent.ThistestmethodisdesignedtodeterminewhetherthecarboncontentmeetsSpecificationsC753,C776,C888,andC922.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofcarboninnuclear-gradeuraniumoxidepowdersandpelletstodeterminecompliancewithspecifications.1.2Gadoliniumoxide(Gd2O3)andgadoliniumoxide-uraniumoxidepowdersandpelletsmayalsobeanalyzedusingthistestmethod.1.3Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationof5to500x03BC;gofresidualcarbon.1.4Thistestmethoddescribesaninductionfurnacecarriergascombustionsystemequippedwithaninfrareddetector.Itmayalsobeappliedtoasimilarinstrumentequippedwithathermalconductivitydetector.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5.1Thepreferredsystemofunitsismicrogramscarbonpergramofsample(x03BC;g/gsample)ormicrogramscarbonpergramofuranium(x03BC;g/gU).1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
